Let’s Touch Grass: Walk’n Talk Club

Move ya body, meet new humans and touch some grass!

Our Touching Grass Walk’n Club is a monthly walk hosted by Central Lakes Family Services for anyone and everyone. Each month we will host a walk in a part of the Queenstown Lakes, Wānaka, Central Otago and Alexandra region and we invite you to join us for the hīkoi, the conversation and the connection.

Why a Walking Club?

Central Lakes Family Services staff is always looking for ways to build connection opportunities for ourselves and our community. A Walking and Talking Club allows us to get outside, which is a proven wellbeing tool, and create connections – with our bodies/taha tinana, our enviornment/te taiao and the community we are a part of.

Walking is low impact on the body, but high impact on the mind and soul!

We will start each walk with some light stretching and a friendly icebreaker before heading off. While most of our walks are slow and gentle, we also occasionally plan longer and harder walks to mix things up and explore our beautiful region, this means knowing your own abilities is paramount. We have a Health & Safety Plan in place which can be shared ahead of time if needed.

Check out our Facebook and Instagram for the details of our next walk. Our socials will always have the most up-to-date information.
